Before we begin…

This month, we are going to talk about teaching your kids about money and I want to start by making something super clear: You don’t have to have it all figured out. I know, I know…you want to sit down with your kids and show them that you’re a shining example of financial excellence, who has a flawless budget and zero debt.

You aren't. You don’t. And that is JUST FINE.

You don’t have to know everything about money or have “clean hands” when it comes to your finances. You can be up to your eyeballs in debt, have no budget, no savings and know jack squat about investing and you can STILL help your kids learn. You can learn TOGETHER. The best lesson in money (and everything else) is this: It takes courage to admit you don’t know something, and there is NO SHAME in making mistakes. Every time you keep trying, you win.
